These Terms apply to all services I build and operate under Python's Den:
Where a rule only applies to one service, it's called out explicitly. Otherwise, assume it applies across the board.
1 Usage Requirements
By using any of these services, you agree to:
- Follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines when using the Discord Bots
- Use the services for their intended purpose — utility, moderation, informational, or entertainment
- Not use any service for malicious activity: spamming, harassment, exploitation, or abuse
- Not attempt to bypass rate limits, restrictions, or access controls on any service
- Not collect other users' personal data through any service without their consent
- Be at least 13 years old — these services are not intended for children under 13, as set out in the Privacy Policy
Python's Den Chat is not open yet. When it launches it will be invite-only: you will not be able to share invites or account access with anyone I haven't personally approved, and you will be responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Until then, the clauses covering it describe how it is intended to work rather than a service you can use today.
Vortex Radar is free to use in your browser. Automated scraping or abusive request volumes against it or its underlying data sources are not permitted.
SkyWatch is free to use in your browser. The camera view is optional and only starts if you grant your browser's camera permission. Air traffic audio is streamed directly from third-party providers and is subject to their terms as well as these. The shared station feed list is maintained by me and is not open to visitor edits. Automated scraping or abusive request volumes are not permitted.
The servers page publishes status information about hardware I own and operate. You may read it freely; automated polling beyond ordinary browsing is not permitted.
git.pythonsden.net hosts my source code. Public repositories may be browsed and cloned. Account registration is closed, and you may not attempt to reach private repositories, other people’s accounts, or anything else you have not been given access to.
2 Accuracy and Safety
Several of these services present weather and aviation information. None of it is official, none of it is guaranteed to be accurate, current, or complete, and none of it is suitable for decisions where safety is at stake.
- Vortex Radar and Weather Bot render weather data derived from third-party and government sources. They are not a substitute for the National Weather Service, your local emergency management, or any official warning. Make safety decisions from official sources.
- SkyWatch shows aircraft positions from public ADS-B feeds and air traffic audio from third parties. It is not for navigation, flight planning, or any operational aviation use.
- Data may be delayed, incomplete, wrong, or missing entirely — including during exactly the severe weather or heavy traffic when you would most want it.
You use this information at your own risk, and I am not liable for any decision made on the basis of it.
3 Availability
All services are offered as-is and without warranty of any kind. Several are actively evolving — Python's Den Chat has not launched yet, Gambler Bot is currently on hold, and features across every service may change without notice.
Some services depend on data I do not control. SkyWatch relies on third-party flight data and audio providers, and Vortex Radar on third-party weather data; when those providers are unavailable or change access, the affected service will be too. Everything runs on hardware I maintain personally, so maintenance and outages should be expected.
I reserve the right to:
- Add or remove features at any time
- Temporarily or permanently disable any service
- Deny or revoke access for any user, server, or account for any reason
4 Software You Install or Run Yourself
Some of my work is published as source code or as software you install on your own device — including the AO3 Client for Android and the public repositories on git.pythonsden.net.
- It is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind and no promise of updates, security fixes, or continued availability.
- You install and run it on your own hardware at your own risk. I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device, your data, or your accounts as a result.
- Where it talks to a third-party service, that service’s own terms apply and complying with them is your responsibility.
- The AO3 Client is unofficial. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by Archive of Our Own, and your use of it must comply with AO3’s own terms of service.
- If a repository carries its own licence file, that licence governs that code and overrides this section.
5 Intellectual Property
Unless a repository or page says otherwise, the code, design, text, and artwork behind these services are mine, and no licence file means all rights are reserved.
- Using a service as intended transfers no ownership of anything.
- You may not copy, rebrand, resell, or present my work as your own.
- Anything you write or submit stays yours. Sending it through a service grants me only the permission needed to operate that service — for example storing a message so it can be delivered.
- Third-party data, libraries, audio, and imagery remain the property of their owners under their own terms.
6 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, everything here is provided as-is and as-available, with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
I am not responsible for:
- Data loss
- Downtime or unavailability of any service
- Any damages resulting from the use or misuse of these services
- Any decision made on the basis of information from any service
- Anything that happens on hardware, accounts, or third-party services I do not control
- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses of any kind
These are free personal projects. You have paid nothing for them, and to the fullest extent the law allows my total liability for any claim relating to them is limited to that amount.
Some places do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
7 Your Responsibility
You are responsible for how you use these services and for anything you do with software you got from me.
If your use of a service, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of someone else’s rights results in a claim, demand, loss, or cost against me, you agree to cover it, including reasonable legal fees.
8 Changes to These Terms
- These Terms may be updated without prior notice.
- Continued use of any service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
9 Governing Law
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of any service covered by them, are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Any such dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and by using these services you agree to those courts having personal jurisdiction over you.
These services are operated from Minnesota and are not directed at any particular jurisdiction elsewhere. If you use them from outside the United States, you are responsible for complying with your own local law.
10 General
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, that part is narrowed or removed only so far as necessary, and everything else stays in force.
- No waiver. If I do not enforce part of these Terms straight away, that is not a waiver of it later.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about these services, and replace anything said previously.
- Transfer. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms to anyone else. I may transfer mine if a service changes hands, and will say so on this site if that happens.
- Survival. The sections on accuracy and safety, intellectual property, liability, your responsibility, and governing law continue to apply after you stop using a service.
